I believe we at one point connected our HMC to the default ip address but
then changed it. We are trying to connect via that same (the changed one)
ip address and can ping it but not get to the ASM interface via the
browser now, so that we can once again change it, Maybe we need to reset
it - how do we do that without being in ASM.

ASMI runs on the FSP, not on the HMC. The default IP of ASMI on the
second HMC port is 192.168.3.147.

Be aware that there's a proxy on the HMC, which you can use to access
the ASMI through the HMC (by selecting the appropriate menu point in
the HMC webinterface).
