By setting the compression level from the default of 5 to 3, the
directory of images compresses. Running interactively only returns the
same error as the batch program receives. I get no additional
information. So I have a work around but I would still like to debug
this and fix the memory allocation error.

Subject: RE: Debug programs in PASE

I keep running into an error while running 7-zip under PASE. Today
it runs and processes over 5,000 images but yesterday it bombs on the
16th image on a batch of just over 2,100. I have checked the images
and they are all fine. When I compress them using the same version of

7-zip on my PC, it works without a problem.

Although not an exact answer, what happens if you do this under PASE
(CALL
QP2TERM) on your iSeries, were the issue is occurring? Interactively
issue
the same 7-up commands from there, and mayhaps you'll get better error
descriptions. Also, see if there are any switches that will provide
better
diagnostic aids (such as -v = verbose; -vv = very verbose, et cetera.)
(Obviously I'm assuming that this is being done from a batch process and
that you don't get to see all the output.)
