By setting the compression level from the default of 5 to 3, the
directory of images compresses. Running interactively only returns the
same error as the batch program receives. I get no additional
information. So I have a work around but I would still like to debug
this and fix the memory allocation error.

Understood. The issue with gathering additional information from PASE tools
in general is that (unless I misunderstand the problem) the problem is
within an application that probably has no debugging information built into
it. You may be able to use gdb to debug the application, but more than
likely your best help will be the support group for 7-zip in this case.

According to www.7-zip.org/support.html, you can obtain support at Source
Forge.

By the way, your prior message said something about image parameters being a
potential culprit. Unless 7-zip is decoding the images, I doubt that would
be an issue. The task of most compression tools is to compress data, not to
analyze and process the data it compresses.

Good luck!
