Does anyone know if these settings would be useful when using Websphere connection pooling?  We use connection pooling for all our java web apps and have no problem with performance

If you do use JDBC, consider using the extended dynamic (package)
capability. We had bad performance until I hooked this up. We are at 5.4.

You append these strings to the end of the url to send them through. Here is
a complete url that we have been using. Package cache is optional. g2test is
our library (Schema).

jdbc:as400://10.1.1.3/g2test;naming=sql;errors=full;extendeddynamic=true;package=g2test_p;package
library=g2test;package cache=true;
