already has and doesn't like?

Actually, I'd go with changing the System i Access transfer to stop
using
MDY.

Me, too, in general. But there could be extenuating circumstances such as
the Excel one that's been mentioned, that might cause a different solution
to be preferable. Since we know only what has been presented about the goal
and characteristics, we're guessing about what's right. Right? :)
