Regular SQL runs in the same job that called it - unless one sets up sql server jobs, iirc. Indexing to support a query seems to run in the *machine pool - the pool where the job is running does not seem to be affected until it does real fetches. Saw that earlier this week in a constrained environment.

Of course, I've been wrong once or twice before. And details of what I saw could likely be explained differently - am just guessing here.

Looks like i got that mixed up: JDBC/ODBC runs in QZDASOINIT jobs,
which is what i meant when writing this. You're absolutely right,
