Some or many of those jobs being monitored that have a MSGW status can
probably be handled by using the System Reply List to have the System i
automatically answer the message. For example, A forms change message on a
laser printer that is always loaded with plain white paper can be
automatically answered, thus not requiring operator intervention.

For more information, read about the following commands:
ADDRPYLE (
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r1/ic2924/info/cl/addrpyle.htm )
WRKRPYLE (
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/cl/wrkrpyle.htm )
commands.

You'll also need to know where variable information is found within a given
command. Read also about the following commands:
WRKMSGD (
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/topic/cl/wrkmsgd.htm )
DSPMSGD (
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/cl/dspmsgd.htm )

Finally, the job description that is used for starting a given job must
specify INQMSGRPY(*SYSRPYL) for the system reply list to automatically
answer the messages, otherwise the message will still be issued to either
the interactive work station (in the case of interactive jobs) or the system
operator's message queue (in the case of batch jobs).
