Last week there was a post regarding how two different companies went out
of business after pulling the plug on the i and moving to different
architecture. (Unfortunately I can't find a link to that thread.) In one
of the examples there was quite a list of all the hardware that was used
to replace a single iSeries. And the additional personnel requirements
were significant. Point that out and let them make their own conclusion.
Then add to that, had the shop that had a two person team needed a *nix
solution, they probably could have added a third person for their *nix
environment and that might have been all that was needed considering that
with an i, many of the requirements may already be in place.
