Is there a way with DB2/400 to setup journaling to record reading a record in a file? I know journals can log file opens/closes and before/after records of changes if an update occurs but I can't find anything that talks about journaling just read access. I also know I could add the code to my own applications to write my own journal records for each time a record is read. Are there any add on packages that would do this? We are not covered by HIPPA regulations but if we were would be adding this to our own applications be the only way to record record level access?
