Rob

I hope you mis-typed when you said DDL. Actually you cannot change the maximum members attribute of SQL objects. You get the following message:

CPD3213

Maximum-member value not valid for file ALLTYPES.

File ALLTYPES in library VERN is either a Structured Query Language (SQL) table, view or index, or a non-SQL file that is an SQL materialized query table or is in SQL data base VERN.

Doug, you can use multi member files that were created with DDL. However,

- You have to do a CHGPF to alter it to allow multimembers.
- You lose all constraints, etc
- For the rest of eternity you have to either use ALIAS or OVRDBF
What is so darned good about multi members that can't be solved by simply
adding another column that is indicative of what you used the member name
for?
