You do if the iSeries FTP server is set for library naming - or you can use a cd / to force it. I did not use cd in my example.

belts and suspenders.
If you follow your order you don't need the quot site nam 1.

Re: FTP question

I suggest a modification - if you use path naming it can be very cool.

On PC:
FTP

binary
quote site nam 1
get /qsys.lib/.lib/.savf
quit

Use the SAVF extension - then when you PUT it back to an iSeries, you use
the "quote site nam 1" again - the SAVF will be created as a SAVF, not as
a PF, so you don't have to pre-create it.

On iSeries:
CRTSAVF FILE(/)

SAVOBJ OBJ()
LIB()
DEV(*SAVF)
OBJTYPE(*PGM)
SAVF()

On PC:
FTP

binary
get /
quit

Fill in items inside brackets (< >) with appropriate values.
