Beppe,

I often want to delete the message that I monitored for using MONMSG in
CL. After all, I monitored for it and handled it. If I remove it, then
when I scan the joblog for "Exception" then I truly only see exceptions
and not stuff that I've already handled. I also had a job that would fill
it's joblogs with this crud. To do this I do something like
/* +
| Delete original file, if it exists +
*/
DLTF FILE(QTEMP/USERLIST)
MONMSG CPF2105 exec(do)
/* Object not found. */
RCVMSG MSGTYPE(*EXCP) /* Remove the message from the
joblog */
EndDo

Another example is:
/* Retrieve query source to source member. */
RTVQMQRY QMQRY(&ODLBNM/&ODOBNM) SRCFILE(&SRCLIB/&SRCFIL) +
ALWQRYDFN(*YES)
RCVMSG MSGTYPE(*LAST) RMV(*NO) KEYVAR(&KEYVAR) MSGID(
&MSGID)
IF COND(&MSGID = 'QWM2704') THEN(DO)
RMVMSG MSGKEY(&KEYVAR)
ENDDO
