At the top of my Gmail session, it says:
Gmail
By Google BETA
Don't use Gmail for 'real' email.
Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger. Google is the one promoting this
for small business and "enterprises":
https://www.google.com/a/
btw, one of the people interviewed
for the article said he doubted if the missing messages were his
fault...he said he's been working with computers since 1997. Well
then...seems that we have a veteran of computing there.
That's about the time my Mom started, and I'd consider her a veteran. I
think a decade at anything *CAN* make you a skilled user. Then again, 40
years at something doesn't *NECESSARILY* mean you're nay good at it...
<grin>
And seriously, there were more than a couple of people that have lost their
email in Google. The ones where they lost only mail from one year, or lost
their Inbox and not their Sent mail, those are particularly scary.
Heck, even if it was user error, you'd think that Google would have backups
to prevent this sort of thing. Something like a transparent recycle bin
that would hold deleted messages for 30 days to avoid "whoops" moments.
