Query/400 or QM would work just fine. In my simple example. I am just
wondering about embedded SQL being used to print the contents of a file.
Perhaps it would not be the correct tool to use. Thanks.

Hi Michael,

What do you want the program to do? I mean, why not just write a QM
query or an OS400 query?

Another example;

C/EXEC SQL
+ Update FILE
+ Set TYPE = :NewTYPE
+ Where TYPE = :OldTYPE
C/END-EXEC

Guy

Can you write a simple report pgm using embedded SQL and no cursors? If
so, could someone give me the basics? I have been using embedded SQL
for
several of my pgms but have always used cursors. Just wondering.
Thanks.
