Another advantage of buying the IBM-recommended Powerware UPSs from
Eaton is so that the i5 can sense when utility power has failed (via the
9-pin cable) and begin an orderly shutdown. If the 9-pin cable is not
attached, the i5 will not know when utility power is lost.
