Matt,

I don't have a "real" 3197 but an emulation model (Lynk). Found the manual, but there's no 0037 code listed; skips from 0029 to 0040.

If it helps, the 002x codes all refer to keying errors of some sort, such as an invalid Hex or diacritic combination, or a letter entered in a numeric field.
0040 through 54 are communication errors.
If you have one available (which it doesn't sound like you do), you might try switching keyboards. I'm also guessing that it is cabled correctly because it sounds like you have a sign on panel. But it definitely sounds like a keyboard-specific problem. You might try banging it around, too, if all else fails.

Couldn't find anything with Google. You might call hardware support.

My system has risen from the ashes. Thanks for all the suggestions. I liked the
"BFH" & Crowbar options. I pulled one of the drives, smacked it around some,
and it's fine.
One more question - I've got a 3197 Color workstation as the console. It's address and port are both "0" on the brick. I don't really use it as I come in through TCP/IP. For some reason, it will not accept and input from the K/B. Any entry results in a flashing Red "0037".
I know it would make a good boat anchor, but, any ideas?
TIA,
Matt
