Difference's in saving stuff from v5r2 TO V5r4 ?

Just a general question before I dig deeper.

We just switched from a V5R2 to V5R4.

Backing up using a 7208 tape drive (20gb format)

Backing up the same user libraries on each system after basically
migrating to v5R4
(NOT QGPL or any system libraries...which
Obviously could change from release to release)

On the v5R2 system it rarely asked for a 2nd tape.
On the v5R4 system it has asked the last 2 nights for a 2nd tape.

OBVIOUSLY I'm going to compare # of objects and size of libraries and
things.
Cause I'm going on the assumption there's some random objects out there
I don't realize
That are taking up space on the v5R4.

The only other thing we can think of is that somehow the data compaction
Between 5.2 and 5.4 is doing this on the 7208 device or a setting on the
OS.

The use optimum block is set to *YES on the backup jobs on both systems
And the data compaction is set to *DEV on both.
