One of the weaknesses of Misys banking software is that it is based on
IBM iSeries architecture. Lawrie said that many of its customers would want to evolve to services-oriented architecture, but he insisted it would support "forever" all of its core banking platforms. *__The "weakness" of the "IBM iSeries architecture" is the failure of its users to move quickly to support services-oriented architecture. It's really a weakness of (a) iSeries/i5 software applications companies, and (b)iSeries shops. IMHO at this point it's a strength. There are areas where it's playing catch-up, but better those than the ones in which the other platforms are playing catch-up. --Alan
