RES: AS400 EMAIL ...

Bill,

We have only about 50 accounts but a lot of traffic, we used AS/400
native SMTP servers but found a lot of small problems, specially on
monitoring and maintenance.

Since 200 we switched Communigate Pro and found it terrible stable, very
easy to maintain and it contains a lot of features wich native SMTP
don't.

If needed, you can get more details, costs and download a trial version
on their website.

Because deploying a large groupware application like Lotus 
Notes or Microsoft Exchange is easy. NOT.

Migration from plain E-Mail to groupware usually improves everything.
But if you've never worked with a groupware before, be 
prepared to read lots and lots of stuff, and plan everything 
carefully. Also, test everything carefully.

AS400 EMAIL ...






Is anyone using their AS400 for e-mail?

Our e-mail is currently with another company but their 
servers have been
going down more frequently which is making me think it would 
be best if
we
hosted our own e-mail.

I'm wondering how good the AS400 is with e-mail and if it's easy to 
maintain
with several hundred e-mail accounts.

Any ideas, suggestions, or pitfalls to watch out for would be 
extremely
helpful.
