Re: GO SAVE from non-console remote connection?

In my experience, if we are interactively connected by VPN, and we get disconnected for ANY reason, that session gets "hung" cannot sign on again as it, until a different work station address goes into WRKCFGSTS and varies off then back on the session that broke.
You may be able to do a test, when you have a time frame when you know people off the system & you able to visit the site. 
1. Use session other than main console to start the GO SAVE
2. See what happens ... using main console to recover as needed

Note that I have been running GO BACKUP from VPN,

The biggest question for me is what happens when GO SAVE takes the system
to a restricted state. I am all but dead certain the connection to the
interactive session will be lost. Does this abort the process? I have
RTFM'ed until my cerebral cortex is coated in ferrous oxide dust
(ferric?). Although there are implications that this is the case (process
aborts) I have yet to trip over the definitive statement, "YOU CAN'T DO
THAT."

What about remote consoles? I have not done the research, so just links or
Redbook references would be warmly received even if accompanied by
(deserved) sarcasm....
