WDSC is great, but for an operator? It's primarily for writing code. You can, and people have, put in extensions for doing stuff like looking at spool files, etc, but probably not where to start. But if your operators do bang out a bunch of CL to write backup programs and stuff, it might not be a bad thing to put on the "to learn" list - just not at the top. I've done the ATS courses. Not bad. They're geared for the 5250 interface and not iNav. I use both iNav, and 5250, for operations. InfoCenter is your friend. Check out http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzahg/rzahgicove rview.htm#sysmanage There is stuff in iNav, especially in the Management Central part, that you would have to pay extra for to get a green screen version of. iNav is a "freebie" and while it is bundled with iSeries Access, you do not have to purchase that product to load iNav.
