Thanks for the info. In a 2nd post I detailed the big download did not bring down any ptfs or savf I can find (no qsf* or qmf* files in qgpl). I think it did 25 minutes of "nothing", and job ended with no errors. I did find ptfs listed in problem log for this event, but they show no file, and error when try to display details. Actual have "V3..." as part of the naming. Will open a call with Support when I can spare a few minutes. I do know IBM had some issues with our records in their system, with reference to an old system from long ago, but was supposedly cleaned up - sndptford use to just 
totally fail.

OK searching the eServer (iSeries) support pages using ECS DOWNLOAD LIMITS
found a number of good tips on ENHANCEMENTS and this link on the API in my

Aren't enhancements wonderful?   I'll have to do a little digging but I've

seen a reference to an API (I think it was an API) that you can use to set

the DL limit. If I remember correctly the reference I saw didn't say much
more than that and searching both the both the SW and HW Info Centers and
Googling the API I had got '0' hits...  Anyone else found/used this API ?

sndptford and dvd vs xmit







I did a sndptford with link type *any, and ordered several groups.
Was expecting a dvd shipment, as it did the last time I ordered
same groups, and for the cume I had ordered earlier today.
It started downloading a 196 meg file (over fractional T1),
about 25 minutes. Would never have run during production time if
I knew it would choose to download. Where can I control what an
acceptable download size is, or is that in IBM's control?
