he hooked up with a mutual friend from Delhi. In a about a weeks time he had the contract assignment with an Indian consulting company! I am seeing a lot of Indian consulting companies in the NYC region that employee American born programmers.
Just not enough of them and so we don't need the damn h1 workers in >the USA eating up what little jobs there are. But your point is to re-train. I agree, but not everyone can. Some of us have families to support.
It's still hard to take the time to retrain when there's still AS/400 jobs on Dice, Monster, etc...
if staying on the 400 learn sql procedures at every chance you get. That is one skill on the 400 that is portable to other platforms. -Steve
