Which version of WDSC? If it's 6, I'd say 1GB minimum, 2GB preferable. RSE (which gives you RPG and CL) is not that terrible, but any of the web tooling (which will include HATS) is pretty taxing. If you *just* want to do RPG/CL, there is a technology preview of WDSC lite available. Depends on how fast you want it to run. I used to run WDSC on a sub 1 GHz workstation with 128 MB of memory and it did run, but it was painful. My recommendation would be a 2 GHz plus machine with at least 512 MB memory, preferrably 1 GB. Still, those are $500 machines now...
