We use Production #2 to run program jobs. I found some of our program were not working and we were thing of just restoring the program library now, because we already restored the physical & logical file library at the beginning of the month. Will this cause any error, that will bit us? -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jerry Adams Sent: Friday, November 18, 2005 10:04 AM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: restoring data file and program >What will happen if we backup our PRODUCTION box on the last day of the >month and Restored our physical files libraries, but not our program >file libraries? First, if you restored the program libraries to Production #2, you might not have the latest "stuff." Which is, I think, to what you were alluding. Second, if the files are changed on Production #1, the programs obviously have to be changed there, as well. If you then tried to access the files on Production #2 with these programs you would get a level check. If it were me, I'd backup and restore the program libraries to Production #2 when I restored the data files. But it really depends upon what the purpose of Production #2 is, doesn't it? Jerry C.
