I would add:

Automation:

Get the system running with as little operator intervention required as
possible.  Use Robot or the IBM Advanced Scheduler.

Administration:

Stay on top of the equipment costs...especially leases so you don't end up
paying through the nose for equipment where leases have expired.

OS:

Keep up to date on PTF's.  Even if you "aren't changing anything" you can get
bit by not having your system current.  OK, while you don't have to be the
first you don't need to be the last either.

Query and Excel:

A good sys admin needs to be able to query their system to find out what it's
doing.  For example, running a DSPUSRPRF
