by "too expensive" I presume you mean performance/throughput...you ALWAYS wanna do that kinda crypto in hardware unless there's a really good reason not to.

Does the i5 support tape encryption?  Does anyone use it?  (Remembering
the debacle where a bunch of backup tapes with SSN's, etc on it for some
major firm came up missing.)
