Michael,

Your statement gives no reasons why COMMON would be less valuable. I could say petrol (gas) was cheaper in the past, but it still has the same value - cars still chew through the same kind of mileage than they used to. And then, programmers still chew through the same programming techniques as in the past, and COMMON is still good programming fuel... I would still be saying nothing.

So, specifically, how is COMMON less valuable?

Trevor

COMMON is nice, but I think it was more valuable in the past than it is
today.

Not to beat this dead horse again, but I've never been in a position where I could attend COMMON. I know I could use my personal vacation to attend one myself, but I'm not a member of COMMON, nor am I actively involved with LUG, so the cost could be considerable. I would certainly like to see what it's
all about, but I can't easily justify the personal expenses involved.
