Pillai,

I'd bet this gets used a lot once it's in place.  On the display start
substituting in the dashed part number to correct the entered part number.
Users will realize they can forget about entering dashes altogether.
They'll learn to let the system handle the formatting and just key in the
letters and digits of the part number.  It'll be a great feature.
