Wilt,Thanks for the advice, I had kind of assumed that there will be a way to create this index. I now realize after trying it as well :) that it is not possible. I will have to go to the trigger solution.

I'd recommend a trigger on the original file that maintains the new 'dictionary' file. That's how I like to do these things.
