Booth,The non-numeric character at the end is a result of not having a place for the '-' sign to sit. The screen field needs to be signed (type 'S') in your DDS. Some other types may work, but that's what I always use.

This must be a *doh* question. I must be having a brain flat. I have looked and can not find examples. I am feeling really stupid about now. I have a field that is numeric on the screen. How does one set the screen so that a enter(-) is not a "}" on the screen? I use an edit code, but that is only effective after the screen is processed and rewritten. --------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.martinvt.com ---------------------------------
