You need to go in to SST, Hardware Service Manager, Product Activity Log
and view/fix/acknowledge the errors to turn off the light. Since you
have a brand-new system, my recommendation would be to call IBM since
it's under warranty and have you walked through this procedure. It
seems to happen more frequently than it should (even some comm errors
will flag it) and it's a good thing to know how to go turn it off on a
single-image system.

Don't stare at it, it'll burn out your retinas within seconds!

Subject: Attention Light On

Hi,

We've new i5 (9406/520) that has it's attention light on. Using the
buttons on the control panel, there is no option to display a SRC. The
only options I get are 01, 02, 04 and 20.

Following the problem analysis in infocenter is not much help. There is
nothing I can see wrong with the i5, but as we're going live on it over
the weekend, I thought I'd better get to the bottom of it.

It's running v5r3, with PTF level 5207. The system is not partitioned,
but does have an xSeries (doing nothing) attached.

Any ideas?

Guy
