EXACTLY what we do. I usually find that Alex is saturated after 3-4 days and since we're talking trips during the school year, I'm not comfortable taking her out of school more than 2 or so days.

Your kids will get a better education by traveling with you than spending thos extra days in the classroom. Just arrange to have the teacher send along some of the stuff that they'd be missing. I used to travel with my Dad frequently. I'd do schoolwork when he was in meetings, or riding in the airplane. -- Paul Nelson Arbor Solutions, Inc. 708-670-6978 Cell pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx -----midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: ----- To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> From: Don <dr2@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 08/04/2005 05:33PM Subject: Re: IBM iSeries Tech Conf Spring 2006.... Rob, Actually as for the MI sessions...you might be surprised...:) But, what I usually do is take a long weekend before the conf..hiting town on Thurs pm...do the weekend with them...they may do some stuff on Mon/Tues and then they fly back on tues pm....I'm there the whole week. Oh well.... On Thu, 4 Aug 2005, rob@xxxxxxxxx wrote:That would pretty much limit both down to just during the summer and thus only one conference per year. I can see where, for single parents it would be a hassle, but what areyougoing to do if the conference is during the summer anyway? Have your preschooler sit next to you during "MI Fundamentals"? I love my family, and I like traveling with them. But sometimes it's best if they stay home when I'm at a conference. I feel less guilty about going to BOF's, etc if they are not there.
