That would pretty much limit both down to just during the summer and thus only one conference per year. (And some people would just as soon have school be year round as a cheap source of babysitting.) And vacations are scattered all over heck during the summer thus putting a crimp in the schedule. I can see where, for single parents it would be a hassle, but what are you going to do if the conference is during the summer anyway? Have your preschooler sit next to you during "MI Fundamentals"? I love my family, and I like traveling with them. But sometimes it's best if they stay home when I'm at a conference. I feel less guilty about going to BOF's, etc if they are not there. Rob Berendt
