we are currently developing some applications for a mobile computer with 
windows ce on it. we are using c# and the .net compact framework for the client 
and web services to access data on the iseries. it working quite well. the web 
services can reside on the iseries with the use of tomcat and apache axis. web 
service development with java is quite easy. much easier as with .net.
we would have used java also for the client but some things can't be access on 
the mobile computer with java (like the barcode reader).
