I don't have stadistical data to prove you wrong. But I'm sure that if you add "Legal copy" far more people will have the Acrobat reader than word, at least in a country like ours in which SBA estimates 89% of the software in use is pirated.

On the other hand, it is easier to get a legal copy of Acrobat reader than word, specialy if you are one of the millons of Linux users. - Free & Legal -

I must respectfully disagree with this statement.  PDF documents can be
modified with appropriate software.  In addition, these documents take
considerably longer than Word documents to open.

A password can be required to modify a Word document to prevent
unauthorized
changes.

A Word doc can be modified, so you don't want to send an invoice that can
