I think that would probably account for the majority of people who have
recently completed formal programming training.
I just checked the current course catalog for two of the area community
colleges (Harper and Prairie State, two that I've attended) and couldn't
find a single reference to RPG *OR* COBOL programming classes in their
normal AAS program. Java, C++, and VB were all prominent though.
(Caveat: I didn't actually look at every course, but their search system
seemed fairly good.) College of Dupage seems to have a single RPG
programming class (Emphasis on understanding RPG control cycle logic)
and a few COBOL classes.
Obviously my research is nowhere near exhaustive ... but I suspect you
will find that "RPG" is listed in the DP101-Intro to Data Processing
class in the "Computer History" category.
Of course, I could be wrong :)
