We do a backup of the NT server inside our AS400 with the SAV command after
doing a vary off of the NT config.

Now we need to do a restore (RST) of a directory that was deleted.

How can we do this? Where are the files? Is NT just like the IFS? Where's the
data? What's the cmd syntax (RST) to restore a folder? Or is this done from
NT?

Jerry

Following is the listing from :
 DSPTAP DEV(TAP01) DATA(*SAVRST) OUTPUT(*PRINT) ENDOPT(*UNLOAD)

This confirms that files are being copied. It looks like it is copying
entire volumes as a single file each. To recover a single file or directory
I would need to recover the entire drive to a neutral location, then get
what I need. If I am missing something, or misinterpreting this report,
please let me know. By the way, the AS400 does not allow *SAVRST to
*OUTFILE. You have to use OUTPUT(*PRINT).

Do you know if the NT side can see the tape drive? Can I install BackupExec
or similar and backup to the same tape drive?
