IBM made NUMEROUS "enhancements" to this previously faithful utility that have in several cases rendered it unusable. I suggest you open a trouble ticket with IBM to get a solution. If nothing else, you help to identify yet another problem with this utility that they managed to break at V5R3. We have had issues with it as well and are currently using it in the V5R2 mode as specified in Vincent Forbes' message. Copy to import seems to not be performing the CCSID when copying a file with a CCSID of 65535 to *PCASCII 2. Copy from import using a *Fixed with the definition file saying field 1 140 is failing when the data is less than 140 for the field. 140 is the max length of the data and the PC text file varies. It is the last field and terminated with CRLF. We fixed the second error by using a source PF and the CPY command. I have searched IBM for all fixes for CPYTOIMP / CPYTOIMP, downloaded and applied all. Still these error persist. Any ideas? Christopher K.
