NEVER MIND. :-) FOun dthat the customer had the console screen plugged into port 1 on the Twinax controller instead of port 0. The DST went looking for address 0 on the next port (1) but when he went to restore the operating system it was warning that the device, although running DST, wasn't really the Port 0 Address 0 console. ..Neil Neil Palmer/DPS <neilp@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 2004/12/02 12:42 To Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject Restore OS/400 problem on model 150 @ V4R5 A customer with a model 150 on V4R5 lost the load source drive. IBM came in and replaced it. Customer had reorganized office and could not find SAVSYS tapes so IBM CSR restored LIC from the first CD of the BasePak CD set and left. Had customer (who by the way is over 1,000 miles away and I'm guiding them over the phone) add the additional 2 disks to the system ASP, then we attempted to restore the operating system from the menu after exiting DST (option 2). First thing I thought strange is it wanted the DST id/password to continue. Then when we select the option to Restore the Operating System we get a message "Install must be done from the main console". Well obviously this IS the main console (it's the only Twinax device on the system) or we wouldn't have got into DST after a manual IPL. Any ideas on why we can't get OS/400 to restore ? ...Neil
