I haven't had this issue, and I've upgraded a few. But if IBM has a document on it, it's obviously happened to more than one. Sometimes, it's just the history of your company. For example, in the olden days of OS/400 when you did an upgrade there was a possibility that you would lose all your job queue entries associated with QBATCH. So we got into the habit of copying the SBSD into a backup library and copying it back after the upgrade. Never a problem. Then I find out it's supposed to automatically do this. We test this in the IBM lab and it doesn't work. Turns out that if you do a DSPOBJD OBJ(QSYS/QBATCH) OBJTYPE(*SBSD) DETAIL(*SERVICE) and find that the System level is REALLY old, (I think it was pre V2R3), then it cannot automatically upgrade it. So we wrote a program to rebuild the subsystem description with the help of several API's. Redid it, and it then automatically converted it. (We have HUNDREDS of job queue entries.)
