Hi Charles, I think the error messages generated by the IBM host when the SNMP driver doesn't work are generally good at directing you to the cause of the difficulty. I would suggest making sure SNMP is enabled in the 300x, that a community name of Public exists in its SNMP setup, and that the parallel port connection to the printer is bi-directionally enabled in its configuration as well (ECP or EPP port definition - not Centronics compatible). If all these items are OK, try building a printer description on the IBM host using the SNMP driver. If you get a failure again, post the error messages and then we can see what problem or problems are visible to your IBM host.
