Mike,

I would get the zip version of ant and use something like this in qshell:

cd /java
jar *xf /tmp/apache-ant-1.6.2-bin.zip

This assumes you uploaded the zip file to /tmp and want ant to be extracted to
/java/apache-ant-1.6.2.

I'm trying to extract apache-ant-1.6.2-bin.tar.gz to our AS/400 (V5R2) so
that I can download and use the iText Java-PDF Library
(http://www.lowagie.com/iText/). The problem is I just can't seem to get
the tar command to work properly. There is also an
apache-ant-1.6.2-bin.tar.bz2 archive available but I don't know if I'd have
any better luck with that. I'm going to try but I'm not optimistic.

There's also a .zip file that I've got on my PC. I could unzip and then FTP
to the 400 but for some reason I've got to Push from the PC and the PC
version of FTP doesn't seem to let me do recursive directories. So it's a
real pain doing one Directory at a time. And the way we're setup here I
can't map a drive to the 400.

Any and all ideas are welcome.

Thanks,

Mike
