How much wiring did they have to do from the sensor downline?

While I like Carl's solution, I don't want to depend solely on folks
reading their eMail (or being local with their eMail-equiped cell
phones) during the weekend.  Instead, we had the fire/burglar alarm
company put a temperature sensor in the computer room and initiated a
special procedure with them if there was trouble in that "zone" (the
temperature sensor had its own alarm zone).  They charged us $80 for
the sensor and installation.

The biggest problem we had is that the first two times the sensor
tripped (it wasn't properly calibrated in the beginning) the person
responding the the alarm company's call was greeted by the police when
he arrived ... the alarm company didn't copy the procedure we sent
accurately!

Since then, everything has worked great.
