In the good old days ... I used to use CPYF FROMKEY(&keyval) NBRRCDS(1) to copy the single record I wanted to read, from the Dbase file to a workfile; Using RCVF to read the single record from the work file achieved my objective then. There may be more elegant ways to do it, but I haven't written CL in anger for a good while. Kind regards, Jeffrey E. Hi, I know that we can sequentially read a PF from CL program using RCVF. Can I do a random retrieval from a CL program (something like a Chain in RPG program)?
