The way I read the APAR was that another IPL and the system may have come up without errors. I just hate to have to reload a system. I think that since it was just one more IPL it would have been worth a shot instead of scratching the system. I understand that the apar was from v4r4. I kind of read that to mean the problem "could" have existed in a previous version. ---------------------------- Bryan Dietz midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on 06/01/2004 02:55:08 AM: > OK, Bryan, but how will he get to install something like PTFs again ? > > His machine is broken and I find it the easiest way for him to do a tape > restore of the complete backup he has. > BTW, you found an APAR for V4R4, he's still at V4R3 ... > > Regards from Germany, Philipp > > Bryan Dietz schrieb: > > > > > > >I know you are already in the restore but I did a quick google search on > >the SRC code B90037FF > >and found the following: > >http://www-912.ibm.com/n_dir/nas4apar. > NSF/0/737de373275bbae5862568720048dc5e?OpenDocument > > > >Looks like you may have not had to scratch load the system after all. > > > > > > > >---------------------------- > >Bryan Dietz > > > >Aktion Associates > > > >midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on 05/31/2004 03:50:49 PM: > > > > > > > >>On Mon, 31 May 2004 21:45:18 +0200, you wrote: > >> > >> > >> > >>>hope you are on the way with your tape install. > >>>All eaten up now and the guests are leaving ... > >>>We had a holyday today, didn't you in Belgium ? > >>> > >>> > >>Hi Phillip, > >> > >> > >>The LIC install is currently at 70%. > >> > >>It was a holiday here as well in Belgium, not having a job anymore > >>makes it difficult to keep track of those kind of things :-) > >>I hope that You and Your party had a great barbecue. > >> > >>Anyhow, everything looks quit good over here, > >>I'll let You know the results as soon as it is finished. > >> > >>Thanks a million for Your support Phillip. > >>You really made my day. > >> > >> > >>Kind regards, > >> > >>Chris > >> > >> > >> > > > >-- > >This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list > >To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx > >To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > >visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l > >or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx > >Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > >at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. > > > > > > > > > -- > This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list > To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l > or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. >
