FYI - EDTF is what is run when you use option 2 in WRKLNK, DSPF is used for option 5. They are a little like SEU - there are similar functions D = delete line, C and A/B for copy after/before. Not as advanced as SEU. You can change CCSIDs for individual lines, as well as the entire file, there are find/replace facilities, etc.

I believe these were available in PTF SF38832 for V3R7 - I see this in the Redbook, "Exploring NFS on AS.400", from Dec 1997. The PTF included EDTF, DSPSTMF, and SQLUTIL. It seems we see there the beginnings of much we have today. Same Redbook speaks of a chown() API - now we have a bunch of IFS APIs based on UNIX kinds of things.

In a document modified last year, entitled "SMTP, MSF, Communications Trace, FTP to Boulder Documentation",
<http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas1d155fa86042c8ec7862566f10065ccf5&rs=110>,

PTFs are listed for the EDTF command through V4R3.
