Uhhhh... Not so fast, Slim... A closer analogy would be same reason a
current MRP report is used, instead of one 4 months old. Because if the
info is spread so thin you can't FIND it when you NEED to USE it (MRP
report, or Planning Guide, or whatever)..

..Well, info you can't Find is LESS-than-useless because you lose time
looking for it. Sames goes if it isn't Precisely and Exactly Available on
24/7/365(6) basis, as you may know. "The Net idn't available" is no
different than the old, lame "The system's down, so no can do" type of
customer lack-of-service of decades ago. Just a new, hip way of saying
same.

| Same reason that a 4 month old MRP report is not what you want your
| planners using for shop floor production. The online memo to users, and
| other books in the infocenter can, and do, get updated.

| Seems a rather obtuse way for IBM to spread the info all over, what used
| ta-be in a single Planning Guide. But that's become a hallmark of the

| Info-less Center approach to documentation. (Not to say the bookmarks

| question WHY the Planning Guide was replaced by click-this-click-that
| approach.)
