Funny, but I've been doing upgrades since at least V2R3.  I seem to 
remember those planning guides.  However I don't recall seeing them for 
the last several releases.  The online is more up-to-date.

All of my last several OS Upgrades have come with 2 hardcopy manuals I 
don't have the real titles handy but they were Red and White  and were 
something to the effect of Upgrade Planning Vol I and II. Sounds like 
something got missed in the shipping
