Thanks to all who sent me suggestions for the problem. It turns out that in some cases, the DHCP is on the AS/400, and in others its somewhere else. So I'm going to use a mix of the offered suggestions, using DHCP if on the AS/400, and writing a note to the IFS from the PC for all others.
